THE BEACONS ARE LIT - COME AND ANSWER

LORD OF THE RINGS-THEMED QUIZ

This fun event has already happened but it’s such a great memory that I don’t want to take this page down yet - and there’s some cool pics from the event.

FEATHERSTON, SATURDAY 11 June, 3.30-6.00pm

The Golden Hall of Meduseld

(aka Featherston School Hall)

Mostly suited ages13+ but there were be some questions specially for younger folk

Where is the horse and the rider? Come in armour (or any Middle Earth costume) - best costume won a FABULOUS Mini Epic donated by Weta Workshop

Weta Workshop also donated an amazing Gandalf figurine for the winning quiz team, and there were other fab prizes too - more Weta Mini Epics, Middle Earth wine, beautiful copies of Lord of the Rings, Arwen’s lipstick, and leaf keyrings (including some oak leaves made by Weta Workshop for the LOTR movies themselves!

Plus, Sir Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger came along, and Richard gave us a fabulous 15 minute talk - it was simply brilliant!

“And who will come? Elves? Dwarfs?” Yep, they all came!

A Featherston Booktown event, organised by The One Room Fan Museum (a LOTR homage fan museum - see the pop-up Museum at Booktown, Anzac Hall), with assistance from members of the Welly-moot (Wellington’s Tolkien club).

This was an unofficial event by fans for fans, and is not associated with or affiliated with the official Lord of the Rings books or movies and their associated rights.
